Michael Arrington started Provisions Construction & Development, Inc. in 2013.  Prior to starting his company, he co-owned another successful construction firm for nine years, since 2004.

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, to middle-class parents (father was a war veteran and retired police officer and mother was a nurse), Michael’s love for construction and hard work came at an early age from both of his grandfathers. He watched his maternal grandfather, who was a builder from Jamaica, build all kinds of things around the house for his grandmother, which inspired him to continue exploring the construction world. From his paternal grandfather, who was an ordained minister, Michael learned to devote his life to God and to live by faith. 

Michael started helping his grandfathers with work as early as age 9, whether throwing newspapers in the neighborhood, doing janitorial work and yard work, or patching leaking roofs. Since, Michael has cultivated an affinity for hard work, showing determination to always go above and beyond expectations. While building a successful business in his hometown is a dream come true, he understands that that’s not enough: Michael is committed to giving back to the Central Florida community. He understands that he wouldn’t be where he is without our community, which has provided the petri dish for him to thrive and succeed against all odds.  

Michael is a product of Orange County Public Schools, attending Catalina Elementary School, Memorial Middle School, and West Orange High School.  Michael went on to graduate from Florida A&M University, a Historical Black College and University, with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering technology.    

During his free time, you can find Michael spending time with his two teenage children, whose commitment to excellence and hard work in school and beyond continue to inspire Michael on a daily basis. He can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future.
